Job summary

Greater London Authority is recruiting a Capital Strategy & Reporting Accountant to shape its capital strategy, strengthen reporting, and advise on major investment decisions. The role combines strategic influence with hands-on technical accounting within a matrix finance structure.

You will own capital strategy, reporting framework, and the capital elements of year-end accounts, liaising with external auditors and shared services.

Qualifications

• CCAB qualification or equivalent, with substantial capital accounting experience.
• Experience delivering published financial statements and working with external auditors.
• Strong knowledge of CIPFA/LASAAC Code of Practice and capital accounting regulations.
• Ability to interpret accounting standards and apply to complex capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and annual review of the GLA Capital Strategy and its monitoring.
• Provide expert technical advice on capital investment, financing and accounting treatment.
• Oversee capital accounting, year-end closure, statutory reporting and fixed asset records.
• Develop reporting frameworks and guidance for capital financing and indicators.
