Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Senior Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist to join their London Trade Support team, focusing on Cross Asset classes. The role involves supporting Front Office and Middle Office teams in functions such as rates, FX, Credit, Repo, MCCF, and Treasury.

This position requires close collaboration with Front Office, Finance, US Documentation, and Operations/Settlements teams daily. Responsibilities include timely booking of activities, trade enrichment, settlement, and reporting. The role also involves working with Sales, Compliance, Technology, COO Teams, and global Middle Office teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Support traders and sales teams by following Middle Office procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Rates, FX, Credit, Repo, and Treasury functions.
  • Ensure trades are checked thoroughly before verification on trade date.
  • Manage intra-day risk and P&L reporting, investigating discrepancies.
  • Monitor daily trading exception reports.
  • Handle OPICS trade repairs and resolve trade queries.
  • Assist with reconciliations and liquidity management.
  • Coordinate with Settlements/Payments and Risk/Product Control departments.
  • Manage Client Derivatives Documentation processes.
  • Participate in system upgrades and testing.
  • Work flexibly, including early shifts, and collaborate across teams.
  • Handle project work and process improvements, maintaining governance documents.
  • Act as a liaison between business needs and technology solutions.
  • Identify issues, escalate as needed, and ensure initiatives are tracked.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong academic background and experience in FX/Rates Cash Securities, OTC Derivatives, and Treasury, with a focus on Rates.
  • Strategic mindset for international projects, collaborating with APAC and Dublin teams.
  • Proficiency with Markitwire, able to create and enrich tickets.
  • Analytical skills with excellent communication.
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle in Rates and FX, including NFD Fixings.
  • Knowledge of Cash Securities and OTC products like CDS.
  • Settlement knowledge across DTC, Fed, E/C, and Clearstream.
  • Experience with TOMS, OPICS, CALYPSO, GSF, CATALYST, MARKITWIRE systems.
  • Advanced Excel and VBA skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in Capital Markets middle office or equivalent.

The Middle Office is a control function emphasizing risk management and adherence to procedures. Collaboration with Technology and global teams is essential.
