Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in Oldham is seeking a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join our CAMHS service. You will provide medical oversight, lead the crisis team, and collaborate with community CAMHS and inpatient services to deliver high-quality care for young people.

The post requires full GMC registration, CCT in CA Psychiatry, MHA Section 12 eligibility, and ongoing CPD with the RCPsych. It offers a substantive, full-time role within an NHS Trust.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration is required for practice.
• CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or within 6 months of achieving this.
• Section 12 approval under the Mental Health Act 1983, or eligible for approval.
• Demonstrable competency across the PMETB approved curriculum.
• Registered for Continuing Professional Development with the RCPsych.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight and clinical consultation to the Crisis team and GMAIC.
• Lead the acute care team in assessment and treatment of young people with mental health crises.
• Provide psychosocial assessment, formulation, and management of comorbidity; advise on admissions or alternatives.
• Supervise and support Crisis and GMAIC staff; liaise with community CAMHS and inpatient services.
• Develop and lead medical practice within the service, ensuring clinical governance and safety.
