Job summary

CERYN Engineering Ltd, a Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy, seeks an experienced Senior CAD Technician to join our expanding technical team in Newport. You will produce detailed drawings and support design development across highways, bridges, and rail-related projects, ensuring outputs meet client expectations and standards.

You will mentor junior technicians and help maintain high drawing quality while collaborating with engineers to support project delivery and growth of the company.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CAD Technician using AutoCAD and MicroStation 3D.
• Experience on infrastructure projects, particularly bridges within rail/highways.
• Strong knowledge of UK engineering standards.
• Excellent written English and eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Produce and detail civil and structural drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Prepare general arrangement drawings, reinforcement details, steelwork designs and connection details.
• Ensure drawings reflect engineering designs and liaise with the team.
• Review drawings prepared by others to maintain quality and consistency.
• Mentor and support Junior Technicians; contribute to skills development.
• Manage drawing packages and coordinate across multiple schemes.
• Ensure compliance with UK industry standards and processes.
