Job summary

Post 2 Post Recruitment is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to produce detailed building floor plans and 2D drawings using AutoCAD, while developing 3D models and ensuring accuracy across specifications. You will coordinate with engineers, contractors and suppliers, manage revisions and help improve drawing quality.

Qualifications

• Experience producing detailed building floor plans is essential.
• Proven commercial experience using 2D AutoCAD to produce detailed technical drawings.
• Practical experience in 3D modelling and design is essential.
• Ability to interpret building layouts, engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality technical documentation.
• Strong organisation including managing drawing revisions and data coordination.
• Good communication with colleagues, contractors and suppliers.
• Proactive in identifying design improvements and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed building floor plans and layouts using AutoCAD.
• Prepare accurate 2D engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Develop and maintain accurate 3D models and designs.
• Interpret engineering specifications, project briefs and existing drawings to produce clear design solutions.
• Coordinate drawings, models and technical information with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Review drawings and design outputs for accuracy, consistency and compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Manage drawing revisions, document control and technical updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Respond to technical queries, assist with design changes and resolve drawing-related issues.
