Job summary

Hawk-Eye Innovations is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cloud Video Framework team in Basingstoke. You’ll build backend solutions for high‑performance video experiences, tackling multithreaded encoding, streaming, and low‑latency systems.

You’ll collaborate across product and engineering teams, optimize cloud video workflows, and mentor junior engineers while delivering scalable tooling that powers live sports technology used worldwide.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in modern C++ (ideally up to C++20).
• Experience writing multithreaded, performance-optimised code.
• Familiarity with Git, Visual Studio, and debugging workflows.
• Experience with networking (TCP/IP) and streaming protocols.
• Proactive mindset and eagerness to learn from a world-class engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement components for our systems and tooling platforms.
• Develop and optimize cloud video frameworks, including audio/video processing, streaming technologies, low-latency systems, and scalable cloud-based media solutions.
• Take part in field testing and supporting deployments at live sporting events.
• Partner with product teams and customers to refine and deliver the best solutions.
• Champion high code quality and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead technical discussions and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
