Job summary

ONI in Oxford is seeking a Software Engineer to build software solutions automating acquisition and analysis for super-resolution microscopy. You will design high-performance C++ applications and work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver value to researchers and industry partners.

The role emphasizes low-level programming, multi-threading, and integrating image analysis or machine learning insights into robust software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering or bioinformatics (or related field).
Minimum 5 years' experience building high-performance C++ software.
Proficient in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and low-level programming.
Experience with Agile/SCRUM software development.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Build solutions for scientists to automate their acquisition and analysis.
Lead delivery of high-quality enterprise-scale software solutions.
Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ applications.
Devise, implement, and test software for nanoscale microscopy with image analysis or ML experience.
Debug and troubleshoot hardware/software integration at system and signal level.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware and software teams to align software with hardware specifications.
Write clear, well-documented, and testable code.
Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams across departments.
