Job summary

ONI in Oxford is seeking a Software Engineer to build software for automating acquisition and analysis in super-resolution microscopy. You will contribute to high-performance C++ applications and image processing/ML solutions, working closely with hardware, firmware and software teams to ensure seamless integration.

The role involves collaborating with scientists and engineers to deliver enterprise-scale software, with emphasis on reliability, speed, and correctness in a cutting-edge research

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Bioinformatics or related field.
• 3+ years developing image processing algorithms/applications as a Software Engineer or similar role.
• Proficient in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and low-level programming.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM software development.

Responsibilities

• Build solutions for scientists to automate acquisition and analysis.
• Deliver high-quality enterprise-scale software solutions.
• Design, implement, and test high-performance C++ applications.
• Devise and test image processing/ML solutions for nano-scale microscopy.
• Debug hardware/software integration issues at system and signal level.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to align software with hardware specs.
• Write and maintain clear, well-documented, testable code.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams across departments.
