Job summary

ONI in Oxford is seeking a Software Engineer to build software for automating super-resolution microscopy and image analysis for researchers. You will develop high‑performance C++ applications and innovative image processing solutions, collaborating with hardware, firmware, and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience developing image processing algorithms/applications.
• Proficient in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and low-level programming.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM software development.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Build solutions for scientists to automate their acquisition and analysis.
• Deliver high-quality enterprise scale software solutions.
• Design, implement, and test high-performance C++ applications.
• Develop image processing/ML solutions for nano-scale microscopy.
• Debug hardware/software integration issues at system level.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware and software engineers to align software with hardware specs.
• Write and maintain clear, well-documented, testable code.
• Communicate with interdisciplinary teams across departments.
