Job summary

Pertemps Specialist Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Enfield, London team. The role combines hands-on C++ development with technical mentoring in a hybrid pattern (three days on-site, two days from home).

You will own full software designs and contribute to innovative products, collaborating with customers, suppliers and engineering partners across the lifecycle from requirements to verification.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software development experience using C++.
• Experience delivering software through the full development lifecycle.
• A degree in software engineering, computer science or another relevant subject.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software using C++.
• Take ownership of complete software designs or defined elements of larger engineering projects.
• Translate product and technical requirements into reliable software solutions.
• Manage software development activities from initial specification through to verification.
• Support, maintain and enhance existing software products.
• Produce clear technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
• Diagnose software issues and implement effective, maintainable solutions.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and external collaborators on software-related matters.
• Provide technical advice and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Promote good engineering practices across the software team.
• Support wider engineering and project activities when required.
