Job summary

McNally Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer in London to enhance and modernise a critical front office trading system. You will help define major components of the target architecture and roadmap, while gaining senior stakeholder exposure and leadership experience.

The role involves delivering end-to-end solutions, collaborating with the application team, and influencing enterprise-level strategies. Strong C#/.NET, API design, and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in software engineering with C# and .NET database design.
• Experience in DevOps and Agile frameworks.
• Expert understanding of the latest market trends, technologies and tools.
• Experience implementing programming best practices for scalability, automation, virtualization, optimisation, availability and performance.
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks, mocking and unit testing.
• Background in designing or implementing APIs.
• Ability to translate product and business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience migrating legacy .NET Framework apps to modern .NET platforms.
• Experience with Cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Senior Software Engineer delivering customer outcomes through engineering and innovative solutions to complex challenges.
• Collaborate with the team lead to deliver significant, complex assignments.
• Define, create, and provide end-to-end solutions focusing on automation, resilience, security, performance, scalability, and reusability.
• Work within an application team to design and engineer complex software, scripts, and tools for bank platforms, applications, and services.
• Influence development of strategies and architecture at domain and enterprise levels, identifying transformational opportunities.
