Job summary

Cboe Europe is hiring a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join our European team building and operating the real-time trading system. You will work on Order Handlers, Matching Engines, and Market Data, ensuring high quality and low latency across trading environments.

You will take end-to-end ownership of features, mentor peers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced financial tech setting, based in London or other European offices.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with modern C++ (C++11 minimum, C++20 a plus) and high-performance solutions.
• Track record of owning features from design to production delivery.
• Experience mentoring or supporting development of less experienced engineers.
• Proactive mindset with strong communication across stakeholders.
• Experience working in Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and extend high-performance C++ functionality across five Equities Trading Environments.
• Build performant systems with emphasis on quality, testability and production readiness.
• Own features end-to-end, coordinating with engineers and business stakeholders from design to delivery.
• Mentor other software engineers and act as subject matter expert for one or more systems.
• Participate in interviewing and evaluating software engineer candidates.
• Provide technical support, diagnosing and resolving complex production issues.
• Provide support outside of normal working hours as needed.
