EPAM Systems Ltd in London is seeking a Senior C++ Engineer to join a hybrid team developing a global derivatives algorithmic trading platform. You will collaborate with technologists, quants, and traders to optimize proprietary trading technology for peak performance and reliability.

The role covers full stack contributions from venue connectivity to trading engines in a fast-paced, open environment. You will contribute to code quality, testing, and scalable distributed systems while advancing

Formación

• 5+ years of post-graduate C++ software development experience in finance.
• Strong knowledge of parallel, asynchronous, and multithreaded programming for distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL.
• Familiarity with trading lifecycle including order capture, execution and settlement.

Responsabilidades

• Develop software that communicates with exchanges via APIs (FIX, WebSocket, HTTP).
• Maintain and extend testing suites to ensure quality.
• Optimize exchange communication through kernel bypass and connection handling.
• Research exchange behavior to align platform operations.

We're looking for a Senior C++ Engineer to join our team in London, United Kingdom in a hybrid working mode. You will be part of a high-performing team developing a global derivatives algorithmic trading platform. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with technologists, quants, and traders, optimizing proprietary trading technology for market-leading performance and reliability. You will contribute to the full stack, from venue connectivity to trading engines, in an open and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop software that communicates with exchanges via APIs, handling market data and order transmission using protocols such as FIX, Websocket, or HTTP
• Ensure software quality by utilizing, maintaining, and extending testing suites
• Optimize exchange communication through Kernel bypass and connection handling
• Research exchange behavior to align platform operations
• Implement solutions using exchange SDKs in C++, Rust, Python, and TypeScript
• Implement trading algorithms based on requirements from traders and quants
• Translate trading requirements into robust software implementations
• Improve stability, reliability, and performance of the trading engine
• Enhance monitoring and observability in partnership with Trading Operations
• Investigate and resolve production issues, including crashes and performance bottlenecks
• Prepare for releases and deployments of new trading engine versions

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years post-graduation professional C++ software development experience in the financial industry
• Solid understanding of parallel, asynchronous, and multithreaded programming for distributed systems
• Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of trading life cycle, including order capture, execution, allocation workflow, settlement, and compliance
• Technical skills in Scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL
• Proven track record in application deployment best practices
• Experience in proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting

• Excellent communication skills for interaction with traders, developers, and stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure trading room environments
• Experience working under demanding deadlines with changing priorities
• Experience in commodity trading and supply operations, ideally within the energy sector
