Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in London is seeking a Senior C++ Engineer to join a hybrid team focused on a global derivatives algorithmic trading platform. You will work with technologists, quants, and traders to optimize performance and reliability across the trading stack from venue connectivity to engines.

You will implement exchange-facing modules in C++, Rust, Python, and TypeScript, improve stability, and contribute to monitoring and releases in a fast-paced trading environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years post-graduation professional C++ software development experience in the financial industry.
• Solid understanding of parallel, asynchronous, and multithreaded programming for distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of trading lifecycle: order capture, execution, allocation, settlement and compliance.
• Proven track record in application deployment best practices.
• Experience in proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop software that communicates with exchanges via APIs using FIX/WebSocket/HTTP.
• Maintain and extend testing suites to ensure software quality.
• Optimize exchange communication through kernel bypass and connection handling.
• Research exchange behavior to align platform operations.
• Implement trading algorithms based on traders/quants requirements.
• Translate trading requirements into robust software implementations.
• Improve stability, reliability, and performance of the trading engine.
• Enhance monitoring and observability with Trading Operations.
• Investigate and resolve production issues including crashes and bottlenecks.
• Prepare for releases and deployments of new trading engine versions.
