Additional Resources Ltd is seeking a Software Developer / Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain backend systems in C++ and Java on Linux. You will lead technical development of components, services and APIs, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to architecture and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Valid SC security clearance at the time of application.
• Approximately 5 years of software development experience in C++ with some Java, in Linux environments.
• Experience developing enterprise back-end applications, APIs and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of OO design, patterns and multithreading.
• Experience with Agile development and relational and/or NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications in C++ and Java within Linux environments.
• Lead the technical development of software components, services and APIs.
• Produce reliable, scalable, high-performance code with a focus on security.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and promote engineering standards.
• Contribute to software architecture, decisions and roadmaps.
• Review code and promote consistent engineering practices.
• Diagnose and resolve complex software issues including third-party dependencies.
• Build and support RESTful APIs, microservices and distributed applications.
• Use static analysis, profiling and debugging tools to improve quality.
• Containerise applications with Docker for deployment and scaling.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.
