Job summary

Oscar Associates Limited is seeking a Software Developer to join a high-performance backend team delivering secure systems for government and defence environments. The role focuses on Java and C++ in Linux, building scalable APIs and distributed services.

You will collaborate across design, architecture and engineering practices, contribute to secure software solutions, and work with cutting-edge technologies including Docker, Git and CI/CD in a demanding security context.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience developing with Java and/or C++.
• Strong experience in Linux environments.
• Experience building backend applications, APIs and distributed systems.
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns and OOP.
• Experience with multithreading, debugging and performance optimisation.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, DevSecOps and Git workflows.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:
