Job summary

United Infrastructure Power T&D Limited in Darlington is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement for utility-scale projects. You will manage supplier relationships, optimize value and ensure timely delivery of materials and services across the Power Transmission & Distribution division.

The role requires CPSM/MCIPS or equivalent, extensive experience with SAP, Oracle, JDA or Coupa, and strong cost analysis, negotiation and compliance skills.

Qualifications

• CPSM or MCIPS certification preferred; strong procurement knowledge.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, JDA or Coupa.
• Understanding of procurement laws in regulated environments.
• Cost analysis, budget management, total cost of ownership experience.
• Supplier relationship management and contract negotiation experience.
• Market research and trend forecasting experience.
• Compliance, risk management and procurement reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Procurement Manager to deliver procurement objectives.
• Own procurement for a division and projects, coordinating with workstreams.
• Negotiate and place orders, ensuring on-time delivery and budget.
• Analyze quotations and recommend best value; present recommendations.
• Suggest specs aligned with group deals and value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain procurement schedules and report monthly to the Procurement Manager.
• Identify strategic procurement opportunities for the division and wider business.
• Assist with tenders and cost negotiations in divisional bids.
• Conduct stock takes and liaise with suppliers and sites.
