Job summary

The Vacancy

We are looking for a Senior Buyer Indirect to strengthen the Procurement team of Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht by focusing on NPR spend and support our manufacturing operations.

As Senior Buyer you will be responsible for the local commercial management and you will be assigned to non‑strategic sourcing. Your responsibilities will cover in‑contract modifications, transfers or new products by ensuring that the sourced products are at competitive prices. You will negotiate & implement country‑specific corporate contracts for GKN Aeropsace and you will also implement commodity strategies, developed by Category Managers, with the goal to leverage indirect spend and deliver significant annual improvements in cost and service levels. In addition, you will coordinate implementation of contracts through the P2P function at sites and manage compliance and you will work with cross functional stakeholder teams to identify business needs and implement contracts which support.

Fokker Landing Gear

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Fokker, is a recognised specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gears, as well as the repair and reassembly of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F‑35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

Key accountabilities
  • Accountable for delivery of the targeted savings identified as part of annual planning reviews to improve bottom line profitability of GKN Aerospace.
  • Negotiate contracts, not covered by Regional / global strategies, where leverage opportunities are identified within country / area of responsibility.
  • Contribute to ongoing development of Aerospace Commodity strategy for areas of responsibility.
  • Actively participate in stakeholder teams within country / area of responsibility to deliver improvements in contracts (cost, performance, quality) for GKN Aerostructures.
  • Work with all layers of GKN Aerospace organisation to communicate and gain buy in / support to commodity strategies.
  • Provide analysis & information to senior management on plans and benefits of actions.
  • Lead key negotiation activities with senior level representatives of suppliers to deliver benefits to business.
  • Establish data / fact driven analysis of potential opportunities for procurement activities.
  • Manage Requests for Proposal / Auction activities within commodities across country / area of responsibility.
  • Work with sites to ensure compliance to corporate contracts.
  • Contribute to the development of commodity budgets / forecasts & liaise with sites to embed locally.

  • A gross salary up to 6.183,- per month, based on the CAO Metalektro (up to salary scale L1) depending on your experience and qualifications.

The onboarding at Fokker usually takes 3 weeks.
