This fast-growing UK retailer is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer who will be responsible for putting together the range for the Impulse Grocery category. About the role
Reporting to the Director of Buying, this will be a high-profile role where you will You will play a pivotal role in shaping the product assortment, ensuring they offer exceptional value to their customers. You will be responsible for managing two direct reports and overseeing a category worth c£50m in sales, with a key focus on driving profitability by renegotiating cost prices with major brands and direct suppliers. You will also identify gaps in the product range and strategically source products to enhance and expand the offering. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, with ultimate accountability for margin and profitability of your category.
About the Person
This would suit someone with a retail or wholesale Buying background who has strong experience of buying FMCG products such as food and drink or household grocery in the clearance, discount or grey market sector. You will have excellent supply base management and negotiation skills as well as a proven track record of success in driving cost efficiencies and adding value through the identification of commercial opportunities.
