Job Title: Senior Buyer - Manufacturing and Production

The role

As a Senior Buyer, you’ll be a key member of the Procurement and Supply Chain team, focusing on various direct and indirect activities.

Daily responsibilities include working within the procurement team, assisting suppliers in continuous improvement initiatives, and managing tenders.

1. Preparing and issuing Invitations to Tender or requests for quotations
2. Collaborating with Commercial and Legal teams to negotiate contract terms that motivate supplier performance
3. Managing key suppliers to provide dynamic supply solutions
4. Expediting requirements to meet project delivery dates
5. Managing procurement workflows and purchasing materials/services aligned with customer deadlines

Essential experience for the Senior Buyer

• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• Experience with low volume manufacturing and direct sourcing
• Proven ability to drive sourcing strategies
• Experience leading procurement projects and managing people

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week at our Walsall site, with early finishes on Fridays. You will be onsite 3-4 days a week, with 1-2 days working from home.

Qualifications for the Senior Buyer

• Relevant academic qualifications or evidence of continuous professional development, ideally at degree level or with relevant engineering/supply chain experience (desirable)
• Membership of a relevant professional body, e.g., Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply level 3 or above (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Further details are available upon request.
