Senior Buyer

Northampton , office-based five days per week with occasional travel to other offices in the UK
£60,000-£65,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Senior Buyer looking for an opportunity to make a real commercial impact within a leading building services organisation?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to play a key role in strengthening supplier relationships, driving cost efficiencies and supporting the successful delivery of projects across the business.

Working closely with the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager and operational teams, you will help shape procurement strategy, improve supply chain performance and identify opportunities to maximise project margins.

The Role

• Full time, permanent role with Building Services
• Take ownership of key procurement activities, ensuring materials and services are sourced competitively, delivered efficiently and managed in line with project requirements.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
• Negotiating competitive pricing and commercial agreements, including opportunities across multiple projects and regions.
• Supporting the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager with rebate agreements, commercial strategy and supplier negotiations.
• Supporting and mentoring Buyers and Assistant Buyers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.

The Person

• Proven experience in a Senior Buyer or similar procurement role.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• The ability to analyse market trends, manage supply chain risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• A good understanding of procurement processes, supplier compliance and performance management.
• Experience within the building services, mechanical and electrical contracting, construction or wider engineering sectors
