Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking an experienced Buyer (Bespoke Manufacturing) in Worksop to take ownership of project procurement for engineering and construction. You will support estimating, sales and project teams with supplier pricing during tender stages and source quotations from UK and international suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Support estimating, sales and project teams with supplier and subcontractor pricing during tender stages.
• Source, obtain and critically assess quotations from UK and international suppliers.
• Procure subcontract packages, materials, plant, equipment and specialist engineering services.
• Manage procurement across packages ranging from day-to-day requirements through to high-value packages worth hundreds of thousands or millions of pounds.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery requirements and supply agreements to achieve best commercial value.
• Ensure suppliers and subcontractors meet required technical, quality, safety, accreditation and programme requirements.

Are you an experienced Buyer or Procurement professional with a background in sourcing materials for the engineering or construction industry, looking to take ownership of complex project procurement rather than routine production purchasing?
