Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer for a leading automotive manufacturing client in Birmingham. This permanent role offers hybrid working and a salary dependent on experience. You will manage the supplier base, negotiate prices and terms, handle RFQ to SOP including NPI, and address delivery issues.

Prior manufacturing or automotive exposure is highly desirable. Includes benefits such as 25 days holiday, life assurance x3 salary, company pension with 4.5% employer contribution,

• Experience in manufacturing industry; automotive experience desirable.
• Buyer role experience or similar.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have experience working within the manufacturing industry, in a fast-paced procurement role, dealing with many suppliers and commodities.

Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 2pm

Job Description

• Day to day commercial management of the supplier base
• Negotiate prices and contract terms
• Manage RFQ (request for quotations) to SOP (start of production), including NPI (New product introduction)
• Manage supplier delivery issues /negotiate claims

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previously worked within the manufacturing industry, automotive is highly desirable
• Well versed working in a Buyer role or similar
• Experienced working within a fast-paced environment
