Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Senior Buyer to join its Supply Chain team in a manufacturing environment. The role offers ownership of supplier relationships, driving commercial value and improving purchasing performance.

This is a fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent. The position is based in Kingsbury, London, with working hours Monday-Thursday 8:45am-4:45pm and Friday 8:45am-16:30pm (Flexi Working).

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or operationally complex environment.
• Familiar with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, SAP, Epicor).
• Proven track record of delivering cost-saving initiatives and strategic sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, assess and onboard new suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms; build strong supplier relationships.
• Review Master Planning outputs and planned purchase orders for timely decisions.
• Review and optimise coverage groups, lead times, safety stock and replenishment settings.
• Manage purchase orders and expedite materials to minimise disruption.

Job Description

• Proactively identify, assess and vet new suppliers, lead supplier onboarding.
• Negotiate competitive pricing and terms, and build strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and reliable delivery.
• Review and validate Master Planning outputs, planned purchase orders and material requirements to ensure accurate and timely purchasing decisions.
• Review and optimise coverage groups, lead times, safety stock and replenishment settings to improve material availability and inventory control.
• Manage purchase orders, expedite critical materials and proactively resolve supply issues to support production schedules and minimise disruption.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Must have experience within a manufacturing, engineering or operationally complex environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Syspro, SAP, Epicor etc.
• Experience delivering cost-saving initiatives, strategic sourcing projects or supplier development programmes.
