Job title: Senior Buyer

Location: Warwick/Hybrid

Duration: 3 months initially

The role:

To lead a variety of medium to high complexity projects, including tenders and contract management activities. The role involves developing and executing category and sourcing strategies, with full ownership of category sub-strategies and strategic relationships within the business.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead, develop, and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure procurement of goods/services delivers value for money.
2. Manage medium to high complex regulated supply chain events.
3. Develop expert knowledge of the supplier marketplace within assigned categories to maintain credibility with stakeholders.
4. Analyze supply base and vendor spend to inform sourcing decisions.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and educate them on processes and best practices.
6. Create complex financial and analytical models for strategic recommendations.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
8. Support and lead junior team members to help them reach their potential, providing coaching and mentoring.
9. Lead training and onboarding activities for new and existing team members.
10. Identify continuous improvement opportunities in contract management, driving efficiencies and benefits.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain, with a record of continuous improvement and results in commercial settings.
• Good understanding of key supply chain practices, including category spend analysis, sourcing processes, and supplier management.
• Knowledge of relevant categories of spend and compliance/regulatory requirements.
• Experience in conducting supply chain activities such as requirement definition, sourcing planning, and supplier management.
• Evidence of the above experience should be reflected in the candidate's CV.
