Job summary

Notting Hill Fish + Meat in London is seeking a talented butcher to join the meat department on a full-time basis. You will work closely with our Head Butcher, delivering high-quality meat to retail and wholesale customers while preparing bespoke orders.

You should have solid butchery experience, strong customer service skills, and a passion for great produce. This hands-on role offers a competitive salary and a lively, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of butchery experience and passion for high-quality produce.
• Strong customer service skills and a confident, friendly manner.
• Ability to multitask in a busy retail environment.
• Pride in presentation and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Positive, team-focused attitude.
• Creativity and interest in new products, sausages, marinades and seasonal ideas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service to retail and wholesale customers
• Prepare customer orders placed in store and online
• Merchandise the meat counter, front windows and in-store dry age area to a high standard
• Break down animals from carcass to retail cuts, or willingness to learn
• Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene, quality and stock rotation
• Use product knowledge to advise customers on cuts, cooking methods and preparation
• Support with sausage making, recipe ideas and new product development
• Utilise trim and offcuts creatively and commercially
• Work as part of a close, energetic and professional team
• Contribute ideas to keep the counter fresh, seasonal and exciting
