Job summary

Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Business Standards Senior Associate to join the Compliance Operations Financial Promotions team in the UK. You will review promotions, provide technical guidance, and coach colleagues while supporting continuous improvement across a key compliance function.

As deputy to the Business Standards Manager, you’ll influence decisions, ensure customer outcomes, and help drive service delivery with a focus on FCA rules, MCOB and Consumer Duty.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing and approving financial promotions within a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of FCA Financial Promotions requirements, MCOB and Consumer Duty.
• Experience supervising or leading a team in a compliance context.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve financial promotions submitted by AR firms for FCA, MCOB and Consumer Duty compliance.
• Act as a technical specialist and escalation point for high-risk promotions.
• Coaching and mentoring Financial Promotions Associates to develop competencies.
• Support day-to-day team workflows and service standards.
• Monitor quality of promotional reviews and identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Business Principles and stakeholders on regulatory changes.
• Contribute to governance, reporting and continuous improvement; deputise for the Business Standards Manager.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Business Standards Senior Associate to join our Financial Promotions team within Compliance Operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong financial promotions compliance experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll play a key role in ensuring promotional communications across our network are compliant, clear and deliver good customer outcomes, while also providing technical guidance, coaching and support to colleagues across the team.

As a senior member of the team and deputy to the Business Standards Manager, you'll have the opportunity to influence decision-making, support service delivery, and help drive continuous improvement across a critical compliance function.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve financial promotions submitted by Appointed Representative firms, ensuring compliance with FCA requirements, MCOB, Consumer Duty and Stonebridge standards.
• Act as a technical specialist and escalation point for complex or higher-risk financial promotions.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to Financial Promotions Associates, supporting their development and technical competence.
• Support the day-to-day management of team workflows, resource allocation and service standards.
• Monitor quality and consistency of promotional reviews, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with Compliance, Business Principles and wider stakeholders to support regulatory change and business initiatives.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities, reporting, governance and continuous improvement across the team.
• Deputise for the Business Standards Manager when required, supporting team leadership, stakeholder engagement and operational delivery.

Our ideal candidate

We're looking for someone who can bring both strong technical expertise and excellent people skills.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience reviewing and approving financial promotions within a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of FCA Financial Promotions requirements and a good understanding of MCOB and Consumer Duty.
• Experience working within mortgage, protection or wider financial services sectors.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide practical, constructive feedback.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting the development of colleagues.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of quality and attention to detail.
• Experience within a supervisory, senior or team leadership capacity would be advantageous.

Desirable qualifications include CeMAP, regulatory or compliance qualifications, or equivalent industry experience.
