What We do / The Team

Markets Operations Technology, part of Citi Markets Technology, handles foundational Post Trade activities across Trade Management, Settlement, Payments, Confirmations, Asset Servicing, Margin & Reporting. Our team manages mission-critical platforms globally, serving internal and external clients.

We seek a highly motivated Business Analyst to lead requirements gathering, design, and implementation of critical cross-functional changes impacting our Markets Operations partners. The role requires technical understanding, detailed analysis, problem-solving, and strong communication skills to drive progress while managing risks and issues.

Our team focuses on Data and Controls linked to Citi-wide Transformation initiatives, requiring a focused and diligent individual capable of challenging and driving business outcomes. We are results-oriented, responsible for deliverables across multiple teams and regions.

Role Overview/What will you do:

This role involves managing requirements, dependencies, communication, and engagement across multiple areas to define and implement holistic solutions. A broad understanding of Markets products and lifecycle processes, with the ability to quickly understand details, is essential. Stakeholders and partners are based globally at Citi sites.

Core activities include:

• Requirements Elicitation: Gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating strategic objectives into tangible deliverables and measurable outcomes. Challenging requests with industry expertise and partnering with application teams to design feasible solutions.
• Gap Analysis: Identifying gaps between current and desired processes, proposing improvements considering data impacts.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicating effectively with stakeholders, managing expectations, and guiding application teams to meet objectives.
• Change Management: Supporting user adoption and ensuring realization of business outcomes from new processes or systems. Understanding cross-functional integration and coordinating activities.
• Data Analysis: Validating requirements, providing insights, tracking metrics, and reporting progress.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining documentation, preparing reports and presentations to demonstrate impact.
• Leadership: Influencing team decisions and providing guidance within areas of expertise.
• Risk and Issue Management: Identifying, assessing, and developing contingency plans for risks and issues.

Key Skills and Experience required:

We seek candidates with:

• Proven experience delivering projects as a Business Analyst in Financial Services.
• Knowledge of Financial Markets products, services, and banking domains.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data skills, with experience working with large datasets and tools like Excel, SQL, and Python.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
• Technical understanding related to solution engineering within Citi Technology.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have skills and experience:

Exposure to:

• Operations flows within Capital Markets.
• Tools like Visio, requirements management tools, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
