Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to identify, develop, and deliver positive change across council services, driving improvements for citizens and services.

You will lead analysis, set direction, mentor colleagues, and work with senior stakeholders to shape opportunities, benefits, and action plans.

The role is hybrid, with home working and at least two days a week in offices at Northallerton, Harrogate, Scarborough or Selby, within the Transformation directorate.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and inspiring teams delivering high performance.
• Strong abilities in persuasion, influencing or negotiation.
• Understanding of business change methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, RPI, BPR, human-centred design).
• Good functional understanding of key technologies (BI, CRM, cloud, data integration).

Responsibilities

• Work with a wide range of stakeholders across the Council to identify opportunities for change.
• Develop and present cases for change to senior management and Council partners.
• Manage and undertake a range of analysis activities to define opportunities, benefits and action plans.
• Use analysis to develop options and make recommendations.
• Review the impact and success of initiatives to quantify realised benefits.
• Be part of a supportive Business Analysis team focused on delivering positive change.
• Directly manage a small team of Business Analysts and support their development.
