Job summary

Alfred H Knight is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our IT team in Prescot, Liverpool. You will lead analysis across a global project portfolio, spanning data initiatives, legacy modernization, digital transformation and continuous improvement.

You will mentor other analysts, collaborate across business and IT teams, and drive end-to-end delivery from discovery through to post-go-live support in a hybrid working environment with three days in the Prescot office and two days remote.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of BA methodologies across waterfall and agile delivery environments.
• Experience with end-to-end software delivery including discovery, requirements, design, testing, UAT and deployment.
• Strong data/process analysis and ability to map data flows and system integration points.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis across global projects spanning data initiatives, legacy modernization, digital transformation and process improvement.
• Define complex business problems and design scalable solution options.
• Mentor and uplift analysts, sharing standards and ways of working.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, tech teams, IT partners and third-party vendors.
• Own end-to-end delivery from discovery to post-go-live activity.

Due to exceptional commercial growth and the recent expansion of our team, Alfred H Knight has an additional opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our IT team in Prescot, Liverpool.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join AHK as we continue our global expansion across new markets and territories. To underpin this growth, our Group IT function is delivering a diverse and high-impact change pipeline. As a Senior BA, you won’t be stuck on a single line of work—you will take ownership across a wide variety of strategic global projects spanning Data, Quality Systems, Legacy Modernisation, Digitalisation, and Continuous Improvement.

We offer a dynamic, hybrid working environment, providing an excellent balance of collaboration and flexibility with three days in our Prescot office and two days working from home.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Drive Strategic Projects: Partner with senior business leaders to lead analysis across a multi-million-pound project portfolio, including legacy modernization, data initiatives, and digital transformation.
• Shape Global Change: Define complex business problems, design scalable solution options, and help modernise processes across our global operations.
• Mentor & Elevate: Act as a coach and mentor to other Business Analysts within the team, uplifting our collective toolkit, standards, and ways of working.
• Collaborate Across the Business: Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders, technical delivery teams, IT Business Partners, and third-party partners.
• Drive Full Lifecycle Delivery: Take end-to-end ownership—from early discovery, scoping, and workshop facilitation through to UAT support, business readiness, and post-go-live implementation.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Business Analysis Methodologies: Comprehensive understanding of BA methods, tools, and techniques across both waterfall and agile delivery environments.
• Full Lifecycle Delivery: Good understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, including discovery, requirements definition, solution design, testing, UAT, and deployment.
• Process & Data Analysis: Strong proficiency in process modelling, gap analysis, data flows, and identifying system integration points.
• Technical Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively alongside technical teams, including architects, developers, data engineers, and cyber/security specialists.
• Constructive Challenge: Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring requirements and assumptions are clear and aligned with business outcomes.
• Expert Facilitation: Strong workshop facilitation and interview skills, with the confidence to lead requirements walkthroughs and review sessions.
• Proactive Ownership: A self-managing, delivery-focused approach with the ability to take ownership and drive work forward with minimal supervision
• Required Work Experience
• Substantial Experience working as a Business Analyst, specifically within an IT, digital transformation, or business change environment.
• Demonstrated Track Record of leading discovery sessions with senior stakeholders to define business problems, objectives, and success measures.
• End-to-End Delivery Experience, including producing high-quality documentation (user stories, process maps, gap analysis) and coordinating UAT phases with business users.
• Peer Development Experience through coaching, mentoring, or supporting the professional growth of other analysts

Required Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent is preferred but not essential – we value experience.
• BCS Business Analysis certifications are preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel to both UK and overseas sites if required.
