Job summary

Job description

A Business Analyst with strong requirements engineering experience is needed for a fast-growing technology business at the forefront of the renewable energy and energy storage sector. The business uses sophisticated technology, data, modelling and energy trading to optimise renewable generation and battery storage assets globally, helping maximise returns and drive further investment into the transition towards a cleaner, low-carbon energy system.

With the continued growth of the business and increasing investment in renewable generation and energy storage, the focus of the role is on bridging the gap between commercial energy trading teams and technical delivery teams. You’ll work closely with traders and commercial stakeholders to understand complex business requirements, translating them into clear user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria for software development teams.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the technology roadmap, ensuring requirements are clearly captured, prioritised and aligned with wider commercial and product objectives. Working within an Agile environment, you’ll support the delivery lifecycle from initial requirements gathering through to development and validation, ensuring the technology being built genuinely solves the problems faced by the commercial teams.

As a Business Analyst, you’ll be expected to facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions, manage a structured backlog of requirements and work closely with developers and technical leads to ensure the “why” behind each requirement is understood. You’ll also help validate that delivered solutions meet the original business objectives and user needs.

This is a particularly exciting opportunity for someone who wants to combine Business Analysis, technology and the energy transition, working on systems that directly support the optimisation and commercial viability of renewable energy and battery storage assets.

This role is:

• Renewable Energy & Energy Storage – Work on technology supporting the global transition to a low-carbon energy system

• London – 3 days a week onsite
