Job summary

E1 Partners is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to own product changes on our platform, from discovery through to production adoption, reporting to the Product Manager for Trading and Commercial.

The role requires hands-on experience in an agile product team and offers exposure to fast-evolving fintech ecosystems. You will influence backlog priorities and ensure clear acceptance criteria, process flows and business rules across delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst in an agile product team.
• Startup or scale-up fintech or tech-enabled sector experience.
• Strong product discovery, stakeholder management and impact/risk analysis.
• Confidence writing story maps, processes, acceptance criteria and business rules.
• Fluent in Jira and Confluence or close equivalents.
• Energy market knowledge is a bonus; fast learner matters more.

Responsibilities

• Take features from early idea through to production with PM, PO, UX and developers.
• Run lightweight discovery with stakeholder interviews, data analysis and prototyping.
• Own backlog health, prioritising by evidenced business value.
• Break epics into clear, deliverable stories with acceptance criteria and rules.
• Surface dependencies and risk early to protect delivery.
• Translate between commercial and technical conversations as trusted advisor.

We're hiring a Senior Business Analyst to own product changes on this platform, from discovery through to production adoption, reporting to the Product Manager for Trading and Commercial. This is a live, fast‑evolving platform — the role covers both improving what's live and building new capability.

What you'll do

• Take features from early idea through to production, working with the Product Manager, Product Owner, UX and developers.
• Run lightweight discovery — stakeholder interviews, data analysis, early prototyping — so build decisions are evidence‑based.
• Own the health of the backlog, prioritising on evidenced business value rather than accumulated requests.
• Break epics into clear, deliverable stories, and write acceptance criteria, business rules and process flows precise enough to build from.
• Surface dependencies, technical risk and scope creep early, so the team can act before delivery is affected.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal users, translating between commercial and technical conversations.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst, including hands‑on experience in an agile product team (Scrum, Kanban or similar).
• Startup or scale‑up experience — ideally fintech, clean tech or another fast‑scaling, tech‑enabled sector — comfortable working through ambiguity and limited resource.
• Strong product discovery, stakeholder management and impact/risk analysis skills.
• Confidence writing story maps, process flows, acceptance criteria and business rules.
• Fluent in Jira and Confluence, or close equivalents.
• Energy market knowledge is a bonus, not essential — the ability to learn fast matters more.
