Job summary

Tesco’s Business Agility team seeks a Senior Business Agility Coach to design and deliver initiatives that foster adaptable capabilities and agile ways of working across Tesco. You will influence stakeholders, tailor solutions, and lead transformational change using Agile and Lean practices.

You will mentor leaders, define metrics, and develop learning experiences for diverse audiences, balancing office collaboration with remote work. Flexible working is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Agile coaching or related roles.
• Experience leading organisational change initiatives.
• Experience using metrics to guide decisions and drive improvement.
• Familiar with Jira, Confluence, Miro and Aha.
• Relevant Agile certifications such as CSM/ICP-ACC/ICP-ATF/Kanban Foundation.

Job description

The Business Agility team’s mission is to enable Tesco to win together by building adaptable capabilities, demonstrating agility behaviours, implementing effective ways of working, and driving continuous excellence.

As a Senior Business Agility Coach, you will design and deliver initiatives aimed at creating adaptable capabilities and agility behaviours, implementing effective ways of working and driving continuous excellence.

The initiatives will focus on complex problem areas impacting multiple squads or verticals, requiring deep contextual understanding, data analysis, and the ability to implement transformative change while engaging and influencing stakeholders throughout the process. Leveraging your skills and expertise in various Agile & Lean practices, you will help the Business Agility team create and implement a blueprint for Tesco's Agile ways of working.

Your main accountabilities are:

• Analyse and understand context (people, process, product) to tailor impactful changes and solutions.
• Identify challenges based on insights, business priorities, and the Business Agility mission and strategy
• Define optimal solutions using industry best practices and Tesco's context.
• Create and implement change initiatives suited to context and scale of impact
• Develop and deliver targeted learning experiences based on audience knowledge.
• Facilitate ad-hoc sessions for large groups to promote collaboration and learning.
• Coach leaders on adopting an Agile mindset and practices.
• Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of Agile practices and initiatives, using data to inform decisionmaking and adjustments.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align on initiatives and maximise success.
• Continuously evaluate and adapt Agile practices based on trends and needs.

Key Skills required

As a practitioner, the skills we are expecting to see:

• Strong understanding of Agile & Lean frameworks and methodologies, both in theory and practice.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
• Proven ability to influence and lead change at different organisational levels, knowing when to step in and out.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in managing and facilitating organisational change initiatives.
• Ability to address and resolve conflicts constructively.
• Proficiency in using metrics and data to guide decisions and assess performance.
• Experience in designing and delivering training programs for diverse audiences.
• Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders for alignment and support.
• Capacity to mentor and develop future Agile leaders.

Experience required

You’ll need to have demonstrated experience of:

• 6+ years of experience in Agile coaching or related roles, with a proven track record of working with multiple teams to solve common challenges
• Demonstrated experience in leading organisational change initiatives, successfully managing resistance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to use metrics and data to guide decision-making, and drive improvement initiatives.
• Experience in resolving conflicts, facilitating discussions to promote collaboration and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with common tools (e.g., Aha, Jira) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Confluence, Miro).
• Relevant Agile certifications (Certified Scrum Master, ICAgile Agile Coaching, ICAgile Team facilitation, Kanban Foundation)
