Job summary

DCS Recruitment are partnering with a specialist consultancy in the building pathology sector to recruit a Building Surveyor. This role involves managing projects from instruction through to completion, carrying out condition surveys, pathology investigations and remediation planning with client-facing responsibilities.

The position is office-based at Head Office in Leighton Buzzard with 1–2 days on site, permanent employment, and up to £60,000 plus car allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience in building surveying, structural investigations or defect analysis.
• Ability to manage projects from instruction to completion.
• Proven report writing and client liaison skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Understanding of budgets and cost control.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out condition surveys, including intrusive and non-destructive investigations.
• Lead and deliver building pathology projects.
• Undertake concrete assessments, including composition, deterioration and corrosion.
• Investigate water ingress and develop remediation plans.
• Carry out non-destructive testing, including GPR and ultrasonic testing.
• Conduct investigations to support re-purposing and design input.
• Coordinate laboratory testing and interpret results.
• Produce and review clear, high-quality technical reports.
• Manage projects to meet safety, quality and budget goals.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver practical solutions.
• Plan resources, allocate tasks and monitor performance.
• Contribute to risk management and cost control.
