Job summary

Chorley Council and South Ribble Borough Council are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to lead the delivery of the councils' capital programme within the Major Projects service.

You will manage a comprehensive capital programme, oversee maintenance and refurbishment, and provide reporting to senior leaders and committees across Chorley and South Ribble. This is aPermanent, full-time role with hybrid working from day one.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or professional qualification or equivalent experience.
• Current full driving license required.
• Experience inspecting and surveying a range of buildings.
• Experience managing maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• Experience liaising with external consultants/contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage a comprehensive capital programme service across the councils.
• Support business as usual and improvement projects for buildings and assets.
• Oversee routine planned maintenance and instruct contractors as appropriate.
• Deliver condition surveys to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Oversee repair and renewal works to council property.
• Support delivery of new development projects.
• Prepare technical and financial reports for Senior Leadership/Committees.
