Job summary

Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join the Property Services team. You will manage a diverse property portfolio, lead reactive and planned maintenance, and ensure statutory compliance across two local authorities.

Role requires a Building Surveying degree and substantial post-qualification experience in a commercial or public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying
• Significant post-qualification building surveying experience
• Experience managing repairs, maintenance and compliance works in Commercial Environment
• Strong knowledge of building contracts, procurement and statutory regulations
• Experience of condition surveys and defect diagnosis
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations and health and safety legislation
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of building reactive and planned maintenance programs
• Manage Statutory compliance
• Conduct condition surveys and defect diagnosis
• Provide expert professional advice across the Councils corporate estate
• Work with Property Services Manager to lead a maintenance team
• Develop maintenance strategies
• Procure and supervise contractors
• Prepare specifications and tender documentation
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Help shape future investment in property assets
