Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Southampton team, handling a broad portfolio across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset. You will deliver survey and project-related services, manage client teams, and ensure high-quality outcomes with opportunities for career development.

You will work from our Southampton office in a collaborative environment, mentoring junior staff and supporting knowledge sharing while driving innovation and excellent client service.

Qualifications

• BSc in building surveying or equivalent.
• MRICS or equivalent professional status.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• AutoCAD or Revit and NBS software proficiency beneficial.
• Experience in higher education, local government and healthcare sectors beneficial.
• Party Wall and Commercial dilapidations experience beneficial.
• Experience with private and public sector clients.
• Skills in surveys, project management, clerk of works, repairs and maintenance.
• Knowledge of contract suites (JCT/NEC).

Responsibilities

• Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments from inception to completion across a broad range of traditional building surveying duties.
• Maintaining effective communication to ensure information is available for successful completion of projects and liaising with other managers for financial control.
• Assist with managing client/project teams to deliver services profitably and on time.
• Visit sites to undertake surveys, construction site visits, meetings with sub-contractors, contractors and clients.
• Deliver all work outputs accurately and on time.
• Representing the company professionally, negotiating with clients to build long-lasting relationships.
• Support, mentor junior team members at a professional level.
