Job summary

Aldwych Consulting seeks a Senior Building Surveyor to lead a diverse portfolio across the Bristol office. The role combines technical surveying with project leadership and client management, taking ownership from instruction through completion.

You will work across commercial, education, residential, emergency services and defence sectors, delivering condition surveys, specifications, and reports while mentoring junior colleagues in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or related RICS-accredited qualification.
• MRICS status or working towards chartership.
• Strong experience in professional and project-based building surveying.
• Good knowledge of contract administration and project delivery.
• Excellent communication, technical reporting and client management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Collaborative mindset with interest in mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead refurbishment, repair and improvement projects across a varied property portfolio.
• Deliver professional surveying services including condition surveys, TDD, defect diagnosis and planned maintenance advice.
• Produce specifications, schedules of work, tender documentation and technical reports.
• Act as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent on relevant projects.
• Build strong, long-term client relationships and provide commercially focused technical advice.
• Work collaboratively with wider teams and other disciplines to deliver successful projects.
• Mentor junior members of the team and develop the next generation of surveyors.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with legislation and industry standards.
