Job description
Senior Building Surveyor - Newcastle

Build your career, not just reports. Real autonomy. Real progression. Real impact.

A high-growth, modern building consultancy is looking for a driven, commercially-minded Senior Building Surveyor to join their team in Newcastle.

Founded by former big-firm surveyors, this business exists to do things better: faster decisions, practical solutions, direct client impact and genuine progression - without corporate layers or rigid boxes.

If you want ownership, variety and the chance to shape a growing practice, this is the role.

The work you'll lead
  • Pre-acquisition and technical due diligence
  • Dilapidations strategy (landlord and tenant)
  • Contract administration and project delivery
  • Defect analysis and technical reporting
  • Schedules of condition and PPM surveys
  • Party wall and neighbourly matters
  • Exposure to expert witness and housing disrepair work

You will manage your own workload, develop client relationships and have freedom to shape your portfolio to your strengths.

What you need
  • MRICS (post-chartership preferred)
  • Strong commercial and client-facing skills
  • Able to run instructions independently
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and confident communicating with decision-makers
  • Ambition to grow with the business (BD exposure welcome, not essential)
What's on offer
  • £50K = £70K+ depending on experience
  • Car allowance
  • Performance bonus
  • Clear path to future equity for high performers
  • Direct access to founders and senior decision-makers
  • Real autonomy and trust from day one
  • North East-focused portfolio with occasional national work
  • Supportive, ambitious and modern culture
  • Professional development encouraged and funded
Why this role stands out
  • Opportunity to influence a growing business
  • No rigid service line silos
  • Projects across commercial sectors with high-quality clients
  • Balanced, flexible working environment
  • Recognition, ownership and long-term progression
