Job summary

JLL Manchester is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join our commercial Building Consultancy team. You will deliver technical surveys, due diligence, and project delivery for a range of investor and occupier clients across the North West.

MRICS is required; you will drive business development, build client relationships, and contribute to fee proposals. This is an on-site role with opportunities to lead multi-disciplinary projects and grow within a global real estate advisory firm.

Qualifications

• MRICS (building surveying) with proven commercial consultancy experience.
• Strong technical knowledge across building pathology/surveys, contract administration, dilapidations, and refurbishment delivery.
• Demonstrable track record of winning new clients and generating fee income in a professional services environment.
• Networking capabilities with an established contact base in the North West commercial property sector.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking Building Surveys and Technical Due Diligence reports.
• Preparing specifications for, and administering, repair and refurbishment contracts.
• Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations / exit strategies.

The team works with a range of investor clients, including major institutions and private corporate clients, as well as local occupiers, higher education clients, and landmark commercial assets across the North West. This is a well-established and high performing team and wider office, with a great track record across the North West market. We are searching for an outward-looking, commercially astute 'all-rounder' Building Surveyor with both Professional Service & Project experience. Technical excellence and client care are paramount, with entrepreneurial drive and strategic networking capabilities a key attribute for the role. Ideally a proven track record in business development and revenue generation but this is subject to level. The successful candidate will not only excel in delivering technical building surveying services but will actively drive business growth through existing client growth and/or new client acquisition, with a goal of expanding our market presence across the North West and identifying revenue opportunities wherever possible. This role requires a self-starter who can develop meaningful relationships across the commercial real estate sector, convert prospects into clients over the medium to long term, and expand our service footprint with existing accounts.
