SENIOR BUILDING SAFETY MANAGER

  • Premier Competitive Hybrid - Macclesfield

ROLE OVERVIEW

You will lead building safety across a varied portfolio, championing a culture of compliance, transparency and continuous improvement for our customers and clients. Working in a hybrid pattern, you’ll spend one day a week in our Macclesfield or Hurst office, time on site to see buildings first-hand and engage residents and stakeholders, and the remainder working from home to plan, coordinate and report.

This is a senior, visible role where you’ll shape how we meet evolving building and fire safety obligations, manage risk proactively, and deliver clear, confident guidance to internal teams, clients, regulators and residents. You’ll join a supportive, ambitious business within the Odevo Group, with the tools and backing to raise standards and deliver lasting impact.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Most days you will be coordinating safety priorities across your portfolio: reviewing risk information, progressing actions, guiding colleagues and suppliers, and communicating updates to clients and residents. You will turn complex regulation into practical plans, oversee remedial works and assurance activity, and provide clear reporting and advice that drives timely, safe decisions.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Buildings in your care have up-to-date, evidence-backed safety assurance with actions closed on time.
  • Clear, proactive communication keeps clients, residents and colleagues informed and confident.
  • Safety case content, golden thread information and resident engagement materials are accurate, accessible and regularly improved.
  • Audits, regulator enquiries and external reviews are passed without issue and with positive feedback.
  • Remedial projects are prioritised by risk, delivered to scope, quality and budget, and lessons learned are embedded.
  • You are the trusted go-to advisor on building safety, raising capability across the wider team.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME

  • Reviewing and maintaining building safety information, including risk assessments, safety case content and golden thread records.
  • Prioritising and driving closure of fire and building safety actions, coordinating with property managers and contractors.
  • Planning and overseeing site visits, inspections and assurance activities, documenting outcomes and next steps.
  • Preparing clear reports, dashboards and client updates on compliance status, risks and project progress.
  • Leading resident engagement on safety matters, producing accessible communications and attending meetings where needed.
  • Scoping, procuring and managing remedial works and surveys, ensuring compliance, value and quality.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

  • You combine strong technical understanding of building and fire safety with practical, hands-on delivery.
  • You communicate complex requirements simply, tailoring your approach for clients, residents, colleagues and contractors.
  • You are organised, data-driven and comfortable prioritising across multiple sites and deadlines.
  • You build constructive relationships, challenge positively and make sound, risk-based decisions.
  • You take ownership, follow through and continually look for smarter, safer ways of working.

EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS

  • Managing building and fire safety across residential blocks, including higher-risk buildings.
  • Producing or maintaining safety documentation such as safety case content, risk registers and resident communications.
  • Overseeing remedial projects (cladding, compartmentation, fire doors, alarms/systems) from scope to completion.
  • Working with regulators, fire authorities, consultants and contractors to resolve complex safety issues.
  • Implementing systems and processes for compliance tracking, audits and reporting.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary, aligned to experience
  • Annual salary review
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Birthday leave
  • Buy and sell annual leave (up to one week)
  • Westfield Health cash plan + Westfield Rewards perks platform
  • Fully funded learning and development
  • Support for professional qualifications including TPI, RICS and more
  • Company pension scheme
