Job summary

Mears Group in Brighton is seeking a proactive Building Maintenance Supervisor to oversee planned, cyclical and responsive repairs across tenanted properties, ensuring quality, safety and customer service.

This hands-on leadership role manages trades and subcontractors, carries out inspections, and ensures compliance with procedures and regulations, with a full UK manual driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Experience supervising operatives in repairs/maintenance.
• Experience managing subcontractors across multiple trades.
• Ability to carry out inspections and assess work to quality standards.
• Strong communication and customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-inspections on void properties.
• Inspect works at height and scaffolding.
• Supervise tradespeople and subcontractors across multiple streams.
• Oversee planned, cyclical and responsive repairs for timely delivery.
• Ensure works meet industry standards and regulations.
• Log works and generate reports using PDA systems and Excel.
• Maintain health and safety compliance and company procedures.
