£40,140 - £46,290 per annum 37 Hours per week

Our building control team manage a range of interesting projects and in this role, you will enjoy the support of a multi-disciplined professional team but be given the autonomy and responsibility to work independently dealing with a range of domestic type building control applications, site inspections and technical queries.

We provide a professional service on all aspects of the building regulations including plan appraisal and site inspections. The successful candidate will be involved in carrying out a variety of inspections including dangerous structures and resolve the issues that may arise. You will be a valued member of the team, who will contribute to the development of the service in relation to commerciality and efficiency.

About the role?

As a Senior Building Inspector, you will:

  • Lead on complex domestic and commercial site inspections.
  • Provide technical guidance and compliance oversight for construction projects.
  • Assess and appraise all elements of domestic and commercial construction without supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for caseload management.
  • Identify and resolve compliance risks, conflicts of interest, and regulatory issues.
  • Act as a mentor and support the development of team members.

You will need?

  • Registered Building Control Inspector Class 2a-e registration with the BSR.
  • A degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years' experience in Building Control or a related discipline.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or higher).
  • Strong decision-making and negotiation skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
