Job summary

Stevenage Borough Council is seeking a Building & Fire Safety Manager to lead safety across housing stock and residents. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, identifying and reducing risk while working with the Fire and Rescue Service, Building Safety Regulator and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and fire safety in residential buildings.
• Understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Safety Regulator requirements.
• Experience with risk management, inspections and compliance programmes.
• Ability to lead a small team and engage effectively with residents, colleagues, contractors and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across building and fire safety.
• Oversee inspections, assurance activity, Building Safety Cases, compliance programmes and remedial works.
• Maintain information and systems underpinning building safety management (Golden Thread).
• Lead day-to-day management and assurance of building safety risks.
• Collaborate across the organisation to embed building safety in projects, maintenance and service delivery.
