Job Description
You will play a key role in the Sustainability team, driving projects and enhancing client relationships whilst maintaining a strong focus on identifying and developing new business initiatives.
Working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will provide first-class BREEAM and sustainability consultancy services to clients. You will work across a variety of sectors and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as we support the development of your professional skills.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Undertaking BREEAM and Well and Fitwel assessments.
- Managing multiple projects on budget and within deadlines.
- Acting as the Sustainability Consultant and BREEAM AP, working closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to deliver key sustainability objectives such as BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel, and HQM.
- Providing high-quality consultancy services with clear guidance and recommendations to maximize project potential.
- Assisting in the delivery of sustainability strategies, including Sustainability Benchmarks, Sustainability Statements, Circular Economy, and Health & Well-being.
- Developing compelling sustainability-related presentations to contribute to the built environment sector.
- Engaging in continual professional development through reading technical journals, attending seminars, and participating in in-house training to enhance technical and operational knowledge.
Management Responsibilities:
- Monitoring workload against deliverables and reporting to line management.
- Utilizing high-level oral and written communication skills, especially report writing, to ensure clarity both internally and externally.
- Ensuring compliance with Quality Assurance procedures.
- Maintaining good relationships with project stakeholders.
- Taking responsibility for client-facing consultancy services and liaising with clients and team members for technical and operational project information.
- Keeping project documentation current and following file management protocols.
- Mentoring and training junior staff members.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Understanding of CDM Regulations, especially the Designer’s requirements.
- Reporting all accidents, incidents, or near misses.
- Adhering to all H&S requirements at all times.
- Using and maintaining appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- Accreditations/Qualifications as a BREEAM Assessor and/or BREEAM AP.
- A relevant BSc or MSc degree in an environmental or construction discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building environmental assessments and certifications such as BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel, HQM, etc.
- Knowledge of building performance and LCA tools.
- Knowledge of thermal modelling and building physics, including daylight, thermal comfort, and overheating studies.
- Experience in client relationship management and project management within a consulting environment.
