Job summary

First Mile is a leading UK sustainability services provider and B Corp, delivering waste management and recycling solutions across the country. The Brand & Comms Lead will own and grow external brand, relationships and communications nationally, building associations with trade bodies, government and press to raise the company profile beyond London.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior brand, communications, PR or partnerships role.
• Experience leading a team and managing a brand budget.
• Strong writing, storytelling and media relations capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a target relationship map across trade bodies, national groups and government bodies.
• Own the events and conference calendar, including industry expos and procurement events.
• Draft and place releases, field media enquiries and coordinate interview requests.
• Define and evolve brand positioning, messaging and tone of voice for content, design and sales collateral.
• Monitor reputational risk and track brand metrics to report to senior stakeholders.
