Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you’ll deliver high-quality bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounting services for a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll be client-facing, and confident supporting others in the team.
  • Manage your own portfolio of bookkeeping and VAT clients, aligned to your level.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Input and reconcile data, process payments, and ensure clear, organised working papers.
  • Liaise directly with clients to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
  • Visit client sites as needed to support service delivery and client relationships.
  • Act as a mentor or buddy to junior colleagues, supporting with feedback and development.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You’ll be an experienced and proactive bookkeeper with strong communication skills and a commercial mindset. You enjoy supporting others and delivering a great client experience.

  • AAT Level 3 qualified or qualified by experience (Level 4 desirable).
  • 2+ years’ experience in bookkeeping and VAT (ideally within practice).
  • Confident preparing management accounts with clear supporting schedules.
  • Skilled in Xero, QuickBooks Online, Excel, and other accounting systems.
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and flexibly across sites.
  • Experience in property finance or sector-specific bookkeeping (desirable but not essential).
