Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you’ll deliver high-quality bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounting services for a diverse portfolio of clients. You’ll be client-facing, and confident supporting others in the team.
- Manage your own portfolio of bookkeeping and VAT clients, aligned to your level.
- Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Input and reconcile data, process payments, and ensure clear, organised working papers.
- Liaise directly with clients to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
- Visit client sites as needed to support service delivery and client relationships.
- Act as a mentor or buddy to junior colleagues, supporting with feedback and development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You’ll be an experienced and proactive bookkeeper with strong communication skills and a commercial mindset. You enjoy supporting others and delivering a great client experience.
- AAT Level 3 qualified or qualified by experience (Level 4 desirable).
- 2+ years’ experience in bookkeeping and VAT (ideally within practice).
- Confident preparing management accounts with clear supporting schedules.
- Skilled in Xero, QuickBooks Online, Excel, and other accounting systems.
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and flexibly across sites.
- Experience in property finance or sector-specific bookkeeping (desirable but not essential).
