Job summary

Citi London is seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer to join the Digital Assets Platform. You will contribute to the Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP), building enterprise-grade web applications with a strong Java backend and Web3 integration.

The role requires hands-on development, collaboration across teams, and a proactive, startup-minded engineer. Hybrid work is available with a market-competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering (MS/PhD a plus).
• Extensive experience in full software development and testing lifecycle; finance/FS exp is a plus.
• Proven backend development experience with Java Spring.
• Web3 application development experience is a plus.
• Experience with asynchronous programming and APIs.
• Familiarity with Web3 libraries such as Web3J/Web3JS.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on implementation approaches for web applications using blockchain.
• Own delivery of end-to-end functional scope of blockchain-based apps.
• Solve engineering challenges to meet stakeholder requirements.
• Apply enterprise design patterns and best practices for reliability and performance.
• Maintain tech docs for code and applications built and maintained.
• Communicate effectively in a distributed team and resolve issues.
