Job summary

Citi's London team seeks a Lead Web3 Engineer for the Digital Assets Platform. You will back enterprise-grade web applications, integrate with blockchain networks, and drive backend services using Java and Web3 libraries.

Strong knowledge of Solidity and smart contracts is a plus. You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating with architects, product teams, and other engineers to deliver secure, scalable solutions within Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering; MS/PhD a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend components that integrate with blockchain networks
• Implement blockchain integrations including node connectivity, transaction submission, and wallet interactions
• Write, test, and deploy smart contracts in Solidity or equivalent
• Build and maintain APIs and microservices exposing blockchain functionality
• Implement asynchronous and event-driven processing for transaction lifecycles
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality and test coverage
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product teams to translate requirements into software
• Contribute to technical documentation and integration guides
• Support debugging and resolution across the blockchain stack
• Follow engineering best practices and Agile processes
• Stay informed on blockchain/Web3 developments
• Participate in sprint ceremonies
