Job summary

East Kent Hospitals is seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist in Haematology (Band 7) for the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford. The post is full-time, substantive and requires HCPC registration with an IBMS portfolio. You will manage the Haematology laboratory and lead a multidisciplinary team providing 24/7 services.

You will train staff, drive service developments and participate in CPP, with opportunities for professional development within a UKAS ISO 15189 accredited setting.

Qualifications

HCPC Registration required for practicing in Haematology.
MSc Haematology or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma or equivalent.
BBTS examination or MSc modules in Haematology/Blood Transfusion.
Experience leading a Haematology/Blood Transfusion team and training staff.
Evidence of morphology training and competency assessment.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day Haematology laboratory operations and staff.
Train staff in Haematology, coagulation and morphology.
Lead service development and continuous processing pattern (CPP) 24/7.
Ensure quality and compliance in an ISO 15189 accredited lab.
